How real is code review in your repo?

This tool looks at your repo's merged pull requests from the last 5 years (up to 5,000 PRs), quarter by quarter, and checks how real the reviews were — using benchmarks from our study. It only reads review metadata — never your code, diffs, or comment text.

What it checks

  • Silent approvals

Approvals with no words and no comments — benchmarked against the 66.5% study median.

  • Zero review

PRs merged with no approval at all. Median company repo: 4%.

  • Speed-read approvals

Approvals faster than a human can read the diff (300 lines/minute).

  • Self-merges

Authors merging their own work with nobody else approving.

  • Reviewer concentration

How much of your review load rests on one person. Study median: 40%.

  • PR size trend

Median PR size per quarter. The study median jumped from 85 to 124 lines since 2022.

  • Lines per developer

Merged lines of code per active developer, quarter by quarter.

  • Lines per reviewer

Approved lines per active reviewer — how the review load changes over time.
